Vision of the Library

  • To help in achieving overall institutional Goal by Supporting Teaching – Learning Process through Learning Resources.

Mission of the Library

  • To inculcate reading habits.
  • To make use of every book purchased.
  • To satisfy user’s needs to optimum level.
  • To strengthen the library resources (Print and electronic) to work efficiently as knowledge resource centre.

 

Libraries have Indian and Foreign Journals, Magazines, Bound Volumes of Magazines, Compact Disks (CD), Text Book CDs and Audio Cassettes. With more than 75000 text books in the Central Library alone, the institute does give the students, faculty and researchers a serious thought on choice and availability of reference material.

Various facilities in the main library include: Acquisition Section, Circulation Section, Stack Area , Periodical and Journal Section, Reference Section, Internet Zone, Reading Room for Faculty Members, Reading Room for Research Scholars, Reading Room for Student, OPAC for circulation section and OPAC for  Reference section. The library has designed its own blog.

 

About the Library

Central Library – Knowledge Resource Centre, Dhanwate National College, Nagpur

Library   helps in achieving to goal by supporting teaching learning process through learning resources. Library is fully automated using Web based RFID enabled LIB-MAN Library Software, the library has individual reading carrels, lounge area for browsing and relaxed reading. IT zone for accessing e-resources.

The Central Library is situated on I & II floor of the college building. It is separate library with spacious and well ventilated reading rooms for staff and students. The seating capacity for students is 100 , for staff members is 10 and research scholars is 10 ,on the  II Floor reading  room ,10 seating capacity for teachers in the main stack area of the  library, with comfort seating for reading purpose on the I floor. Total area of Library is 779.6872 Sq. Mts. There are various sections in the Library Acquisition section, Circulation section, Stack Area, Periodical section, Reference section, Competitive examination Book section ,OPAC, M-OPAC  for students and staff ,Internet Zone with e-journals and e-books and UGC INFONET,DELNET,DOAJ Databases, Donated Library namely Ambhruni , Manuscript section, Dissertations and theses, projects, special collection of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and Dr. Bhausaheb Panjabrao Deshmukh.Institutional  repository is available in Dhanwate National College, library for students and staff

Library is enriched with 90206 books,48 National and International journals and periodicals ,18 Magazines,20 Newspapers,1386  Bound Volumes ,1556 donated books,102 manuscripts,575 CD,s, and DVD’S with  no. of  rare books .Book bank facility for students, special book deposit scheme for students ,circulation service, clipping service, Interlibrary loan facility, reference service, reprographic facility, scanning facility ,Wi-Fi facilities are provided to the stakeholders.

Library is automated using Web based RFID enabled LIB-MAN Library Software, Library is fully automated with 18 computers Barcode machine, barcode scanner,Thermal printer for circulation receipt partially Barcoded,WEB OPAC is available. M-OPAC available Acquisition of books and journals, News papers, Web OPAC have been fully computerized for easy access of information. Students can access all the e-resources, databases downloaded like N-LIST, DELNET, DOAJ in Internet Zone which is established  8 Computers, available in library.

WEB OPAC &  M-OPAC  (Online Public Access Catalogue)  are used for searching of books available in the Library.

Learning Resources 

  1. UGC INFONET Consortia: The college has made available the UGC –INFONET, Digital library consortia, provides current contents as well as archival access to more than 6000 e-journals  and 31,35000 + ebooks for our students and end users.
  2. DELNET Database: The college has made available DELNET services to the members of the library, user can have access to the various services offered by DELNET, especially Inter Library Loan ( I.L.L.) services.
  3. Directory of open access Journals (DOAJ): Free access on web No. of Journals and e-books

  1. Dr. Bhausaheb Panjabrao Deshmukh Collection: College library has maintained special collection on Dr. Bhausaheb Panjabrao Deshmukh. The collection includes books written on him.The collection covers Books and Magazines.
  2. Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Collection: College library has maintained special collection on Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. The collection includes books written by Babasaheb Ambedkar as well as the books written on him on him. The collection covers Books .
  3. Manuscripts: The college library has maintained the special collection of Manuscripts.

  5. “Ambhruni अभ्यासीका ‘’ which books has donated by Dr. J.G. Chavan. Emeritus fellow, Rashtrasant Tukodoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur.
