Code of Ethics to Check Malpractices and Plagiarism in Research


Every research work needs to have two components which need the due attention of the researcher as well as of the supervisor and those are Ethics and plagiarism. Many a times, researchers do not give credit to the source from which they have taken the contents for their research work and claim others work as their own, which will eventually result in degradation of the reputation of the individual institution.

The college has formed an ethics committee comprising of all PHD holders of the institute to assess the faculty researcher / PG students / UG students who produce their work in the form of Research Publication / Research Proposal / Thesis Work (PG)/ Project Report. Especially the research work of faculty / PG students in the form of papers / projects must go through the process of plagiarism and has to maintain high academic and production standards.

The links for online plagiarism checking software are available in college website. All faculty researcher seeking for paper submission are requested to submit the plagiarism report (maximum 15%) along with the paper to the committee for review. All PG students are made compulsory to submit plagiarism report (Maximum 20%), no objection from guide and co-authors to get their project work approved for publication / thesis presentation.

Any violation of the rule and other issue, complaints regarding plagiarism attracts disciplinary action to be imposed by committee within one month from the day of complaint.

Research at Dhanwate National College

The college has been recently granted recognition as the ‘Centre of Higher Learning and Research’ for Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur for registration of Ph.D. scholars in Commerce, Management, Marathi, English, Economics, Sociology and Geography.

The vision of the college envisages strengthening of research center through infrastructure, support service, quality enhancement in seminars, conferences and workshop. The college has also excelled in the field of Research, the salient features of which are as follows:

  • PhD. Supervisors: A total of 30 PhD Supervisors in Commerce, Management, Arts and  Social Sciences.
  • Publications: 252 research papers, 25 books of creative writings and references, 21 text books, and 178 articles by the faculty
  • Major / Minor Research Projects:  2 Major Research projects sanctioned by UGC in the Dept. of English and in the Dept. of Marathi are completed while 2 Major Research Projects are ongoing. 23 Minor Research Projects sanctioned by UGC are completed and 4 are ongoing which are interdisciplinary in nature
  • Faculty with Ph.D.:  33 in granted while 05 in non-grant-in-aid courses. The total numbers of Ph.D. awarded students are 63; distributed as 52 in Commerce, 05 in Arts, 05 in Social Sciences and 02 in Management Department. The total number of students working out their PhDs are 126 as of now under the guidance of various college faculties.

To foster the research activities, the institute further encourages the faculty to prepare research proposals in terms of minor and major research projects which are forwarded with recommendations to the UGC for grant of approval and financial support. Study leave for specialized research are available for studies in India as well as abroad. Further, the faculty members are encouraged to participate in national as well as international seminars.

The institute has a Research Committee to facilitate and monitor research related activities. The committee works to collect information about funding agencies and assists in the preparation of research proposals; it further motivates teachers and students to involve in research activities as research publications and presentations.

The institution publishes Exploration, Indian Journal of Multidiscipline, Peer-Reviewed Biannual for Multidisciplinary studies in Arts, Commerce, Management and Social Sciences, Education in English, Marathi and Hindi, with ISSN 2246-2089 and 17 editorial consultants from Britain, Italy, USA and India. The Proceedings of the seminars and conferences with ISBN numbers are also published from time to time. Some of the other features of the healthy research practices in the institute include:

  • Extension of Library building with renovated reading room for regular students, separate space for research students with internet facility.
  • Participation in Research Festival, Avishkar
  • Research projects undertaken by members are interdisciplinary in nature
  • Publication of research papers, articles by faculty at National, Internationals levels along with books of creative writings, criticism and text books
  • Developing the research aptitude in the facuty  through various research methodology workshops and seminars organized in-house and outside the institute
  • The college prepares Academic calendar before the session begins. Every teacher maintains Academic diary to record day to day teaching schedule, research, extension and other academic activities.
  • The teachers and students are encouraged to participate in advance research programmes like class room seminars, and media presentations and brain storming discussions on current, social, issues.
